SunQ Toys do like to copy Matchbox for the majority of their models and in most cases they do a fairly decent job. This is their interpretation of the Renault Master Ambulance and at least this cheapo copy is actually made of metal unlike the MBX version. Its obviously not as detailed or sharply cast as the original but is still recognisable as a Renault and its Primate Rescue livery is a bit different to the usual Emergency ones usually adorned on similar models. The original MBX version is hardly very appealing and so making a cheapened copy has predictable results.....

Very cheeky little copy of the original 1980's Matchbox Peterbilt truck by SunQ Toys. I don't know how old this casting dates from but its unusual for SunQ to copy a Matchbox model of this age as most of their MBX copies are of much more recent models. Its a very charming little thing if somewhat a bit crude but the Peterbilt cab looks crisp enough and the yellow plastic wheels actually help finish it off. PS. Does anyone know the actual model name for this old Peterbilt truck? Bought directly from China. Mint and boxed.

SunQ Toys are one of the many Chinese toy makers who use Matchbox for their "inspiration". Most of their MBX copies are the usual generic suspects such as the 2006 Fire Engine, Armoured Response vehicle and Torque Titan but thankfully they have also copied some of the better licensed stuff such as this Ford F-350 Super Duty Superlift complete with all its intricate plastic tubing surrounding much of the bodywork. Scarily, apart from the cruder looking logos and livery this doesn't actually look too much different to the original Matchbox and is of about the same quality! Licensed Matchbox models since 2012 have been the exception rather than the norm so quite a lot of collectors wondered why Matchbox wasted precious funds on the very plain and clunky looking International Scout 4x4 casting! SunQ Toys I don't think are too bothered by things like that and the simpler the design the easier it is to copy! Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
