There is no evidence of a manufacturers name on the packaging but I suspect it was made by Universal Toys. It is a typical late 70's early 80's Far Eastern casting. Not too bad but not quite on the same level as the established European companies. That was soon to change! Mint and boxed.

Quite a poorly cast model of the often modelled Chevrolet Stepside from the 1970's. Made in Hong Kong and packaged as Sabre Toys though the actual manufacturer was Universal Toys. Dates from the early 1980's. Mint and boxed.

Probably not the name of the manufacturer, the packaging states this is a Sabre toy though this may just be the importation company. Dating from the 1980's, this Hong Kong made Audi Quattro in Army guise is very plainly cast and not of the highest quality. Mint and boxed.

With no identification on its baseplate other than the name of its maker Universal Toys I can only guess this is meant to be some kind of Hot Rodded 1930's/40's Ford Coupe?
Dating from the 1970's this was typical of the products of Universal Toys who's Hong Kong based factories flooded Western markets with inexpensive Matchbox and Corgi rivalling models and no doubt helped hasten their demise as independent British producers. Ironically it was Universal Toys who took over Lesney Matchbox in 1982 when they were declared bankrupt.
The model itself has survived remarkably well and is actually something more akin to a Hot Wheels with its Hot Rod styling and bright metallic finish. No printed decals back then of course, its side decors are just neatly applied paper stickers. Found recently in a charity shop by my Flikr friend Mikaela.

A fairly crude model by Universal Toys of the Mercedes-Benz C111. Made in Hong Kong it dates from the 1980's and comes in a set of 3 vehicles. The set itself appears to be sold under the UDC Super Wheels name. Mint and boxed.
