Well it says this model is to 1/43 scale and maybe mathematically it is but at under three inches in length and hardly bigger than the equivalent 1/60 scale Welly this Mondo Motors branded classic Fiat 500 is firmly in my collecting sphere in terms of size.
At just 1.99 Euro its also a commendably good little budget model possessing scale model accuracy and detailing very similar to Welly though this beats it by the use of clear plastic for its tiny front headlights.
Mondo Motors historically usually sell other peoples products under their own name so I've no idea whether this particular casting is unique to them though their name is on both packaging and cast into the baseplate. Bought recently from an Irish budget store amusingly called Mr. Price. Mint and boxed.

Mondo Motors appears to be rather similar to the old Edocar company in respective that it doesn't actually make any of its products, merely uses castings from other toy companies which it then sells under its own brand. I've never seen any of its products here in the U.K. but have found a few including this in a large out of town toy shop in the Spanish resort of Sitges. This very impressive Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is actually made by Motormax and I can only assume its part of some higher quality range of 1/64 models as it seems to differ from the usual low end licensed castings they produce. Looking even more polished than the equivalent MBX version this benefits from extra amounts of detailing and even clear plastic headlamps. Mint and boxed.

Although i've heard of Mondo Motors I have to admit I don't really know much about them. To date this is the only one of their products in my collection and even this was bought very recently. It appears to be an unlicensed MAN TGA based truck which is actually a Golden Wheel casting right down to their name being stamped on the baseplate. It is an attractive well cast model with some nice detailing especially the wheels and feels pretty substantial so must be one of the better models Golden Wheel produce. Bought in a large toy shop in Sitges in Spain in November 2015. Mint and boxed.

Would anyone hazard a guess as to what this diecast truck is actually based on? I suspect its not generic yet can find no cab which quite shares its possibly Japanese influenced styling.
The packaging proudly proclaims "Italian Design" which to be honest is stretching the truth a tad. Mondo Motors is indeed an Italian toy company who use other toy makers products, a bit like Edocar years ago, but that is where the Italian connection stops as this is made by the Chinese Donbful toy manufacturer.
Found recently in one of the Chinese bazaars in the Spanish resort of Sitges. Mint and boxed.

The Chinese bazaars of Sitges have seen very slim pickings on many of my recent visits. Still plenty of 1/43 scale or bigger diecasts can be found but the amount of 1/64 assortment grows ever smaller, Europeans on the whole obviously prefer to collect larger sizes! My favourite bazaar did yield a few Mondo Motors branded items on my April visit, this being one of the nicest. In a cheapo kind of way of course! ;-p
Made by Donbful, a Chinese company known more for its diecast trucks and farm related vehicles.
Its styling seems so familiar yet i'm still struggling to identify whether its based on a real truck, maybe Hino? Its styling definitely doesn't belong in the modern era with its very square cut chiselled edges and small round headlamps and its for that reason why I do particularly like it.
Obviously designed to be a budget diecast with its so-so quality but overall rather charming.
Mint and boxed.
