When a selection of licensed 1/64 Suntoys models began to appear in Wilkinsons stores back in September of 2016 they didn't reveal too many surprises as most of them had appeared briefly in Poundland a few years prior right down to the same colours! One that I hadn't seen before and took an instant shine to was this BMW MINI Cooper Countryman which was a type of vehicle I wasn't expecting to see in their line. Looking like a slightly cheaper version of the similar Realtoy casting which strangely only had a very limited life in Tesco stores its a very commendable sub Mattel product. Fully licensed which explains its badging and overall accuracy it has a pleasant quota of painted detailing, a sculptured interior and a full length sunroof. Mint and boxed.

I believe somewhere in this rather squashed looking little cheapo diecast is actually a Jaguar XJ220! Made by Suntoys it is nothing really anything more than a set filler and is typical of the type of product Suntoys churn out to be sold Worldwide in a variety of different in house brand names. This one was part of a huuuuuuge 51 vehicle set sold under the Wilko Roadsters name and obviously came from Wilkinsons who still use Suntoys though i've not really seen this set since the last Christmas period. Mint and boxed.

Previously available some years ago at Poundland but now back in Wilkinsons stores is this chunky looking Lincoln Navigator which even still wears exactly the same colour scheme! Made by Suntoys its a pretty decent looking model as you'd expect from an inexpensive but licensed diecast , not quite as good as the Matchbox equivalent which I haven't seen in a few years but has some nice painted features and I do particularly like this black and silver colour. Sold under the Wilko Roadsters brand. Mint and boxed.

With the ever increasing dominance of Mattel and our own HTI in supplying our big chain retailers with 1/64 diecasts its not always easy to find products from other smaller toy makers. Since September 2016 and for reasons unknown to me Wilkinsons have virtually replaced HTI as their previous source of budget in house branded models with the products of Suntoys. The majority are either larger scale stuff or cheapo low end 1/64 models in the same vein as Summer but thankfully they also sell as singles a small range of licensed castings which they have been making for the past five years or so. Pretty much all of them apart from the Citroen C4 can be found in Wilkinsons and for the sub Mattel price make a nice alternative from the usual big boys. I managed to grab a few of these little Porsche Cayenne models and although I don't think they will make Majorette or Welly lose sleep they are definitely good enough to be official Porsche products. The body is nicely accurate and well cast plus you get a full array of painted detailing to lights and badges plus a realistic interior and a well applied metallic grey finish. The only downside of course is that for the duration of this range being available in Wilkinsons which could be for the next few years I don't expect to see any new castings or recolours! Mint and boxed.

I promise I won't inflict you with many more of these mega cheapo Suntoys models as i've now nearly got rid of my backlog from a huge 51 vehicle set purchased from Wilkinsons way back in October 2016! Not too much credit can be given to this crude unlicensed rendition of a Mercedes-Benz CLK coupe other than its metallic green finish is unexpectedly deep and lustrous, oh and it has an interior too! ;-p
Mint and boxed.
