One of the newest castings on general sale from the Welly 1/60 line and one which could be easily found in many French retailers I visited in the Summer. Very handy as they can be notoriously difficult to find in many countries including the UK and very expensive to source online.
They aren't as cheap as they SHOULD be in France now costing more than Hot Wheels and Matchbox but not stupidly expensive either which is why I was happy to pick up several of the BMW M4 in its signature bright green factory colour.
Found in an E.leclerc.

Welly have a long history of making Porsche 911 castings, from their early unlicensed era right through to the last few decades when most of their budget 1/60 line went up several notches to compete effectively with the more established brands.
Keeping things up to date is their 992 generation Carrera 4S which looks superb in a very vivid bright yellow hue helping to highlight and compliment its fine detailing and smart alloy effect wheels.
Found recently in an E.leclerc hypermarket which had literally just put out a fresh carton of new Welly.

The XJ which finally broke the tradition of looking like the original 1968 version and for me was all the better for doing so! It enjoyed a rather long life of nine years and the cancellation of its electric replacement has set back Jaguar years. Whats Jaguar without a large luxury saloon!
Disappointingly very few toy manufacturers bothered to model it, certainly in this scale so thank goodness Welly rose to the challenge and brought us this beautiful replica. Unfortunately Welly haven't bothered to recolour this casting at all despite it being in production for several years, all seemingly coming out of their factory in this metallic silver hue.
Part of a twin pack found recently in a Spanish Pepco store.

Licensed All Nipon Airways liveried Welly Airport Cargo Truck and a casting which has had a LOT of mileage through both Welly and the original Tomica one which this is copied from. In fact Dickie Toys through their subcontractor Daxiang also make a copy of this Toyota HiAce too, the spirit of the original 1975 casting certainly lives on!
For some reason this recent release has to make do with some rather cheapo Chinese style wheels giving it an off brand appearance though in fairness the set it was part of was a lot cheaper than anything produced by Daron Enterprises.
Found at a Toy Park store in Japan.

Although I did find scores of new Welly diecasts whilst out in Japan I was a bit disappointed not to really find any outside of Toys R Us except for one airport themed multi-set. The same for Hong Kong too and does highlight the biggest issue with them and thats general availability. I'm not exactly sure why that would be especially when that doesn't seem to apply to their bigger scale offerings which even here in the UK are readily available.
The ones I did find in Toys R Us were a motley crew of traditional releases, new recolours but not really anything totally brand new. It was however the first opportunity i've had in finding this orange recolour of their excellent Lexus RC F which looks both bold and well cast for its sub Hot Wheels price point. Fully licensed of course so expect to find neat detailing and accurate proportions.
