The Ford Econoline van was a very popular choice for Far Eastern toy manufacturers from the 1970's onwards which explains why Yatming had one in its range for years. This Ambulance version is part of a 10 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

Of all the cheap Chinese/Hong Kong brands from the 1970's which flooded World markets probably one of the most favoured and revered by collectors was Yatming. Up until recently when they went out of the diecast business they produced a huge and impressive range of 1/64 models covering vehicles from all over the globe. This is their BMW 635CSI which looks as every bit as good as something which could have been made by Corgi and Matchbox in the same period. It is well cast and finished and has the bonus of having opening doors. Like a lot of Yatming models this was sold under their own Road Tough name. Mint and boxed.

Apart from Dinky, virtually all Western toy manufacturers ignored the popular Bedford CF van and opted for the more predictable Ford Transit. Bizarely, Yatming decided to model it even though it already had its Ford Econoline casting too. Not a bad casting with some crisp features and detailing. Like a lot of Yatming models this van was available in many different colours and liveries. Mint and boxed.

Yatming didn't just churn out squillions of Ford Econoline models, they were also wise enough to bring out a Bedford CF to please us Europeans! A once very popular van which competed well with the Ford Transit, it was nonetheless a very rare sight to see them modelled, especially in this scale. Again, Yatming made sure they were available in plenty of different colours and liveries. Mint and boxed.

There has probably been no other diecast 1/64 van which has been sold with so many colour variations and under so many different brand names than the venerable Yatming Ford Econoline. A great many of them were sold exclusively in the USA and probably sold in their millions! A typical late 1970's Far Eastern casting which lasted many many years. This Marble Mobile version was sold under Yatmings own Road Champs brand. Mint and boxed.
