Could this potentially be my very first 1/64 model of the incredible Bugatti Chiron? Its a cheap unlicensed rendition if it is indeed one and not the usual Veyron which every man and his dog has replicated over the years. That toilet shaped grille certainly hints at Bugatti and its honed and chiselled body suggests something more modern than the Veyron.
Whatever its actually based on its part of a new to me range of budget diecasts currently available at The Works and packaged in their own branded boxes. Not too horrendous for one Pound and certainly an interesting and welcome alternative to Hot Wheels and HTI. The actual toy manufacturer I believe are called Zhongqun.

With the absence of any manufacturers name except the Best Wheel brand on the packaging thats how I shall catalogue these cheeky Hot Wheels copies. Now identified as being made by Zhongqun. Most definitely one of the best selections of M2 Machines knock offs I've seen for a while where more effort has been put into casting quality and detailing which actually is used on all panels.
All castings of course are unlicensed but theres little to disguise its 1968 Plymouth Barracuda origins.
Part of a six vehicle set sourced recently directly from China.

Another big thanks to Racecar Collector for solving the mystery of who makes these Hot Wheels copies making the connection between the initials ZQ and Zhongqun. They have previously, and still do, make a small handful of slightly cheaper looking HW copies but recently upped their game by introducing several more castings of higher quality and a whole lot more detailing.
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS really impresses from its metallic blue paint finish, full detailing front , sides and rear plus generous amounts of chrome and fancier wheels. Even brake pads have been painted too surpassing anything you'll find on a basic mainline equivalent.
Part of a six vehicle set sold under the Best Wheel brand and sourced from China.

A Hot Wheels copy or not? Difficult to decide when it comes to this Zhongqun Bugatti Chiron as it actually appeared several months before the Hot Wheels original but pretty much all of their castings are knock offs. Maybe they copied it from a pre-production picture?
Not a bad representation of a Chiron in terms of its body shape and body features even if its wheels are a touch generic and graphics a touch tacky.
Found in a large Chinese bazaar whilst out in Spain recently.

Another Chinese toy maker swimming in the murky waters of Hot Wheels knock offs yet its quickly apparent that Zhongqun have made more of an effort than most. More effort into accuracy, more effort into all round detailing, more effort into paint finish quality and more effort in the interiors.
Their Porsche 911 RWB is ALMOST to the same quality as the HW original and even then it betters it with the amount of detailing which even stretches to detailed brakes and silver windscreen surround.
