Its actually now rather startling as to just how many separate Chinese toy makers produce their own copy of the Matchbox 2012 Ford Explorer. We aren't talking about one factory producing them to be sold under different brands, we are talking about scores of different and separate enterprises making almost cloned copies of one another and pretty much all of them using these older style Matchbox sawtooth wheels.
This one is made by a Chinese toy company who use the initials GLW and is very typical of what they produce ie. low end and pretty crude! Part of a six vehicle set sourced recently from China. Mint and boxed.

If I had a Pound for every Chinese toy maker who made their own copy of the Matchbox Jeep Wrangler i'd be a millionaire! Ok, maybe not but its almost comical the sheer amount of companies making this and other Matchbox castings. All looking pretty much the same but from completely separate enterprises and in most cases pretty well cast if a little bit rough around the edges. Made by GLW and comes part of a six vehicle set. I think something may have got lost in translation describing this model as a Police Wrecker but what hasn't got lost is the fact that YET AGAIN another Chinese toy company have decided to copy the rather unusual Matchbox Airport Fire Tanker Truck casting. Naturally it rides on these copied sawtooth wheels too for maximum authentic effect ;-p

Its cab may have been severely shortened compared to the original, in fact a few Chinese toy makers have done the same with their versions, but its still clearly a copy of the still frequently used Matchbox 2006 Fire Engine casting. GLW have gone one better by actually giving theirs clear lense headlights.
