Amberley church is little more than a simple medieval chapel, a humble building with no dedication, and consists merely of a single room with a bellcote at the west end. It is a charming location though, about as rural a setting as one could find, situated next to a farm but little else.

The present building appears to be of mostly 14th century date but its origins go back much further, with 12th century carving on a capital inside. The interior is divided by a wooden screen into almost equal halves to create the sense of a nave and chancel. A curious niche adorns the wall immediately left of the altar, presumably once the site of a venerated image.

Amberley church is as remote and rural as Herefordshire churches can be, and a simple space worth a quick visit for its sense of timeless peace and its attractive farmside setting.
