One of my hopes for this winter is to capture a few good images of the Snow Buntings. They are sometimes called “Snowflakes” because of the way they flock together and swoop over the fields so fast in a twirling and tumbling way that they resemble snowflakes falling from the sky. It is neat to see a flock of 50-100 in motion but a real challenge to capture a good shot of them. When they land, it is usually so far out in the field and they are hard to spot. This image was taken 5 years ago at a Marina in Quebec. At the time, I had no idea what kind of birds they were. I took the opportunity to capture two of them sitting still on the nearby fence. It was a lucky capture and makes for a nice fence photo for this Friday. However, it would be nice to get a better capture of them in a more natural setting. Meanwhile, Happy Fence Friday!
