This station was the limit of the electrification, later extended to Ayr of course.

We were approaching the mid point of our Scottish railtourer, this particular day being spent 'out the line' to get some pics of freight trains. Good fun but the weather was 'typically Scottish'. Luckily I'd decided to shoot b & w to contrast with my colour slides of the previous year.
