A short trip from home to see the Tug hauled Oxwellmains - Thurrock cement train on a cold and misty morning.
It looked like the 'activated' 6E89 empties to Rylstone were going to run too, but the GBRF 66 ran round and coupled up.....then shut down!
Some great light at times, and plenty of gulls that get their breakfast from the nearby rubbish tip.
On the left are some track panels that seem to have appeared as part of the works to re-instate the fourth line between Kettering and Bedford.

Oh, and there are plans to put in a north junction here, enabling trains much easier access to and from the yard but NR want lotsa wonga to do the job and GBRF and not planning to invest.
Still, the reversing and propelling moves create more opportunities for us photographers.
