The River Welland is in full flood, with waves and spray in places thanks to a stiff wind that is the tail end of storm Cristoph.

The River Welland which marks the boundary between the counties of Northants and Rutland is to the right of the photo, which would normally feature just long grass and brambles.

Note the ice in the shaded foreground. The year is only three weeks old, but I reckon that this may well be one of my best shots of 2021.
