This was an amazing sight, the first time I'd ever seen a train that was 'two in one', weighing in at around 4,800 tons..

We are looking at the 7A16 17.05 Merehead Quarry to Hanwell Bridge Loop, about half way along the consist is 66526, with what will become the 7O55 21.42 Hanwell Bridge Loop to Stewarts Lane.

59102 will continue east as the 7L46 to Bow, in East London.

CREATIVE

The shot was into the sun, but I knew that I had an ideal sky to add via photoshop!

6C31 10.08 Theale to Whatley Quarry empties.

My first ever photo of a 59, and my first proper view. Previously I'd only seen one or two from moving trains at Acton and Maidenhead.

The 7V12 15.38 Woking to Merehead Quarry empties approach Fairwood Junction a few minutes before sunset.

At this time the loco was unbranded and nameless, but had previously carried the names of 'L Keith McNair' and 'Vale of Evesham'.

Freightliner now own this loco, previously it had a spell of DB and EWS, having initially been built for National Power allocated to Ferrybridge in 1994.
