The Marches line between Newport and Shrewsbury is a real treat to photograph and ride on, this is one of the highlights.

1V94 08.05 Holyhead to Cardiff Central.

The services are a mixture of classes 150/3/6/8, 175, 197 and a number of class 67's on push/pulls using MK 4 coaches. At the time of our visit, the number of 67 diagrams varied from one to four daily. A lottery for regular travellers as sometimes the most basic units ended up on the long distance trains. The good news is that we saw some test workings using five coaches, all of the original four coach sets should be strengthened soon.

Best enjoyed 'large'.
