Well, how the railway infrastructure has changed in this area! Temple Mills yard has been replaced by the Olympic Park and a Eurostar depot, the shed and works are long gone and international trains whizz through on HS1. The DLR is there also.

Luckily there are are few bits of furniture that were installed a few decades ago to remind us of what things were like back in the BR days.

The top picture sees 37246 and 37263 with the the 4H67 11.15 Felixstowe Docks Container Terminal to Stratford FLT in June 1980. This image was taken from a Norwich - Liverpool Street train, and I can't remember if it was moving or not. Marra Man tells me that the WTT has it calling here for a crew change.

The scene in 2011 shows 378207 under the footbridge to the Westgate shopping centre - another new and massive structure.

This place holds such fantastic memories - the long walk through the tunnel to 30A, usually with a mate who worked for BR so getting round was usually a certainty. I saw my last Brush 4 there, 47114 in 1976.

In 2012 I was lucky enough to be an Olympics Gamesmaker - two of the very best weeks of my life when we showed the world how to put on the greatest show on earth.

Built at a cost of £7.8 million, this 'new' station was opened in September 2009.

Services provided are

4tph northbound to Stratford (London Overground)
1tph northbound to Watford Junction (Southern)
4tph southbound to Clapham Junction (London Overground)
1tph southbound to East Croydon (Southern)[9]

The 2Y92 14.22 Stratford to Clapham Junction is featured, there appeared to be good loadings on most trains.
