This is an irruption year for this species (as well as for my previous post of a B0real 0w)l along the north shore of Lake Superior near Duluth, MN. Our first day we had a conservative count of 10 of this species and in two instances we had three foraging together within the same view. Such a big contrast from two years ago when over a week in early February we had zero of this species in Sax Zim Bog.
