John Cleese (from Monty Python and Pink Panther) getting married in Montreal @ Just For Laughs Festival (Juste Pour Rire) on July 26th, 2009.
Headlining the Just For Laughs Festival (along with Bill Cosby, Lewis Black, Martin Short, Whoopi Goldberg, Russell Peters, Jim Gaffigan) , John Cleese hosted the All-Star Galas in Montreal.
Due to illness, John had to cancel his first appearance and was replaced by Lewis Black (who did a brilliant job). The Festival authorities was kind enought to give those attendiees free tickets to the another John Cleese show.
So apparently, I'll be soon on 'Comedy Central', with my 1 second of fame - in the TV audience. The video camera kept flying over my head. Now I know how 'Video killed the radio star'.

Lewis Black at the Just For Laughs Festival Montreal - All Star Britcom Gala, July 22, 2009. Lewis Black was filling in for the comedy legend John Cleese (The real Pink Panther and star of Monty Python films) , who had suddenly fallen sick. Other comics from the Just For Laughs event included Jimmy Carr and Danny Bhoy
Montreal is blessed to have regular appearances with comic gems as Lewis Black. If you don't remember him, you have probabily seen Lewis starring in the 'Daily Show with John Stewart' in the 'Back in Black' segment. And he hosts his own show on Comedy Central - "The Root of All Evil"
Wikipedia says "Lewis Black is known for his comedy style which often includes simulating a mental breakdown or an increasingly angry rant, ridiculing history". I couldn't write that better.
Lewis has also hosted the 'World Stupidy Awards' at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal for 3 straight years. Some award winners included Miss South Carolina for the Stupidest Statement of the Year, President Bush (Stupidity Award for Reckless Endangerment of the Planet) and Fox News (Media Outlet Which Has Best Furthered Ignorance)

Russell Peters performed in Montreal, Canada (Bell Center) during the Just For Laughs Festival (20th anniversary tour) on 24th July 2009. This years Juno Awards host, Russell Peters is also the first comedian to sell-out Toronto's Air Canada Centre (and that too, two nights in a row). No doubt Russell is now in the Forbes list of top 10 comic earners. The show was opened by Angelo Tsarouchas
This is the 4th time I have seen Russell Peters Live, including once along with Al Gore (Comedians for Climate Project-Canada), and another time as a surprise replacement for Lewis Black. His hilarious material keeps killing the audience year after year.
