After talking to others that are taking part in the Art House Sketchbook Project I discovered that the paper in the sketchbook they provide (Moleskine Cahier) is very thin. This does not appeal to me at all. So I decided to re-load the book. Impatient as I am, I have started and finished this proceedure BEFORE the book has even arrived, so fingers crossed it all works out.
I put my new pages together by taking sections from an 8" Hahnemuhle sketchbook, stitching them together and binding the back with picture tape to secure.
The Moleskine cahier is 8.5x5.5" so rather than cut the pages down I have folded them back in on themselves, which I think makes the book rather interesting and gives me a little more room to work with. The original cahier sketchbook has approx 60 pages, I have not added this many to my re-load as I believe it will be too thick for the cover to wrap around, the clever fold on each page will make it appear nice and thick without straining the spine of the original.

My book arrived this morning and my is the paper thin, so pleased I decided to re-load it!
I faced a couple of problems, having prepared the pages BEFORE the book arrived but nothing I couldn't overcome.
The folded pages made browsing quite difficult, so I have had to cut most of the tabs off. I've left the first tab (seen in SBP-Reload5), the two centre tabs and the one at the rear of the book that I may turn into a pocket seeing as I had to stick my back page over the pocket provided in the original book. It works and I don't have to start all over again, which I was afraid of...that's all that matters!
Phew!
