This week, I will be getting together with my daughter for our "Christmas". Given that I am still recovering from my bad trip and fall (three months ago!), and not being sure what snow will be falling this week, we have not yet definitely decided on what we will end up doing. Usually, we would be going for a day's drive, especially hoping to find a Snowy Owl. Perhaps this kind of trip will wait till the New Year. We shall see.
Anyway, yesterday, I thought I would drive SE of the city and see what birds I could find. Hoped I might find a Snowy, but again, not one to be found anywhere. If I found one, it might be worth taking my daughter.
The day was a beautiful day, though the light was rather weird. The distant mountains were barely visible. Everywhere was snow-covered, which tends to make spotting a white owl far more difficult. The sky, though, was gorgeous, with a few different types of cloud formation. I always enjoy photographing clouds, but of course being there in person is best of all. I felt very lucky to be out on such a day.
