On 28 December 2023, my daughter and I went for a drive to look for Snowy Owls. We saw six of them, but five were extremely distant. Though my daughter has amazing, eagle eyes, I still don't know how she spotted some of them. I took a few highly zoomed photos of them soon and will probably upload one of each, just for my own record.

This was the third owl and I think the other photo I posted tonight was of the same owl after it unfortunately flew over the fields and landed.

The very first owl was seen almost as soon as we got out there, and the second owl was seen about four minutes later. Another twenty minutes and we saw the third owl, seen in this photo. It was almost an hour later that the fourth owl was spotted. Twenty minutes after that, we saw owl number 5, shining brightly at the top of a distant hill of a farmer's field. Continuing our drive, we thought we would be returning to the city with five sightings, but then, an hour and 55 minutes later, our last owl was seen, so far away. Needless to say, we were both really happy with the birds we were so fortunate to see.

1:00 am, 30 December: I think I just heard a Coyote down the street. One of my neighbours had an encounter with one yesterday or the day before, right by his doorstep. Luckily, he managed to pick up his dog and get it inside before the Coyote fully attacked. 30 December: 2:35 am more Coyote howling and again at 2:50 am when it/they heard sirens on the main road. I wonder if there is a den nearby.
