Another long drive today, hoping to find a Snowy Owl, but out of luck again. Unfortunately, not a single one to be seen anywhere. I did notice that a very experienced birder covered some of the same roads as I did, and she had no Snowy Owl sightings posted on eBird for today.
Yesterday, I was out for about five and half hours, driving NE of the city. Takes roughly an hour and a quarter to get to the area I wanted, so by the time I allow the same for the return journey, it doesn't leave much time for searching the back roads. However, I covered the roads that I wanted, so it was worth it.
The only birds I saw were three Magpies, about 8 Gray Partridge flying fast across the road, and maybe half a dozen small birds that could have been House Sparrows, also flying across the road.
In October 2019, for once, I actually knocked on the door of the owner of the private grain elevator seen in this photo and another photo posted yesterday and asked if it was OK to photograph her old grain elevator, meaning from the road. However, she very kindly told me to go over to it and take any photos I wanted. This grain elevator is a different style from what one usually thinks of, when 'grain elevator' is mentioned. I like it, and it is quite a fine building. Yesterday, I just took a handful of photos while sitting in my car. The carved, wooden Snowy Owl always makes me smile.

Not much in the way of new-to-me barns, except at one location that I came across. I had heard of this old homestead, that had been used in the making of the film, "Brokeback Mountain", but had never seen it before. Oh, I guess I was wrong! After checking my photos from the previous drive I had done with my daughter on 22 November 2019, I discovered that I had in fact taken photos of some of the barns (from the road, as always). Guess I didn't realize back then what this homestead had been used for - an actual farm that was used in the beautiful, though sad, movie, "Brokeback Mountain". The old barns in this photo were along the same road.
