I still have photos from two drives to post, from 27 and 28 September 2023. It has been a long time since I managed to get out this many times in a month, and I'm falling behind. Out of practice, I guess. Our fall colours this year have been stunning and I was determined to get out to enjoy and capture them. Today, 30 September, it is raining, so I would imagine many more of the leaves will have fallen to the ground.

These three images were taken on 26 September, when I went birding in Fish Creek Park with a group of friends. The colourful hillside caught my eye when I was driving out of the park. The walk was a long one for me - I think the longest of the very few walks I've done this year. I did leave the group shortly before the furthest point, so that I could go more slowly on the return walk. Have to say that I was really glad to eventually reach my car. Wouldn't have missed the beauty of the fall colours for anything, though.

Almost all the birds were far, far away on the river or along the far side, so I only got a couple of bird photos. Happy, though, to see the little Downy Woodpecker and this insect.

Continuing to post photos from my archives until I finally manage to get out for a drive. The last time I was able to go anywhere was 19 October 2023. Our weather has been mixed recently, cold with overcast days and others with some sunshine. Our snow has been melting nicely.

If I wrote a description under any previously-posted photos that were taken on the same outings as these 'new' photos posted today, I will add it under today's photos.

"This photo was taken on 26 September 2023, when I went birding in Fish Creek Park with a group of friends.
