Hawaii is a popular wedding destination. Captured this bride and groom earlier today in Ala Moana Beach Park

Ala Moana Beach Park is a free public park on the island of Oahu, U.S. state of Hawaii, located between Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. This 100-acre park has a wide gold-sand beach that is over a half-mile long.

The Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), commonly abbreviated to just Night Heron in Eurasia, is a medium-sized heron found throughout a large part of the world [...].

Adults are approximately 64 cm (25 in) long and weigh 800 g (28 oz). They have a black crown and back with the remainder of the body white or grey, red eyes, and short yellow legs. They have pale grey wings and white under parts. Two or three long white plumes, erected in greeting and courtship displays, extend from the back of the head. The sexes are similar in appearance although the males are slightly larger. Black-crowned Night Herons do not fit the typical body form of the heron family. They are relatively stocky with shorter bills, legs, and necks than their more familiar cousins, the egrets and "day" herons. Their resting posture is normally somewhat hunched but when hunting they extend their necks and look more like other wading birds. [...].

The scientific name, Nycticorax, means "night raven", and refers to this species' nocturnal habits and harsh crow-like call. Wikipedia

A SPARKLING SALT-WATER LAGOON

Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon is a spectacular five-acre salt-water lagoon featuring a state-of-the-art water circulation system.

Named after Hawaii's legendary Ambassador of Aloha – surfer and Olympic swimming champion, Duke Paoa Kahanamoku – the sparkling lagoon is the perfect place to lounge on a beach chair, take a tranquil swim, or while away the hour beneath swaying palm trees.

This man-made lagoon is located in the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu, on the south shore of the island of Oʻahu near the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor and Fort DeRussy Military Reservation and boasts spectacular views of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean.

It was developed back in the 1950's along with Henry J. Kaiser's Hilton Hawaiian Village. Henry J. Kaiser was a ship building and steel industrialist who amassed his multi-billion dollar empire during World War II.

The lagoon and the adjoining beach were purchased by the Hilton Hotels in 1961. On October 16, 2007 the lagoon was officially re-opened with a ceremony attended by Hawaii Lieutenant Governor Duke Aiona and relatives of Duke Kahanamoku.

There are multiple water activity rentals such water bikes and paddle boards.

PS Once a week one can sit by the lagoon and enjoy a fabulous fireworks show
