This fascinating picture taken in India during WW2 shows an Austin Seven, but what is or more accurately was it.? I'm having a guess that it was a Type AE Tourer. The windscreen seems to have been 'raised' with a filler piece below it.

this is a 'rare' tourer from the first year of production of the Austin 10, Early cars had very narrow bodywork, by 1933 more room was made for the passengers by making the bodywork about 6 inches wider

This 1930 saloon with her proud keepers has no vents in the scuttle or louvres in the bonnet.. Built on the short chassis with cut-outs around the door over the rear wheel is the first version of the 'classic' box saloon.
