This Edsel advertising postcard was mailed in 1958 from Paps Lincoln-Mercury-Edsel in Sunnyvale CA. The printed message on the back points out that Edsel was available in four series and 18 body styles. Options included Teletouch transmission and Dial-Temp heater, along with 303 to 345 hp engines.

The Edsel marketing folks apparently figured a tie-in with a Kim Novak movie would help get instant recognition for this brand-new make introduced in 1957 as 1958 models. The Ford-bodied Pacer did not survive into the 1959 Edsel model year, nor did any of the Mercury-bodied models. Kim Novak, fortunately, is still with us.

This1958 Citation 4-door hardtop was prominently displayed by Houston's Gulf Coast Motors. This was one of only 3 body styles available in the top-of-the-line Mercury-bodied Citation series. The others were a 2-door hardtop and a convertible.
