My Home Ballyfermot
In Ballyfermot's embrace, where childhood's pride was sown,
From Fatima Mansion's parting, a heartfelt tale is known.
Rounders, Heads, and Volley, beneath the open sky,
In laughter and camaraderie, our spirits learned to fly.
Kisses shared like secrets, in games that knew no end,
From morning's light to night's embrace, my soul did mend.
Snowflakes danced with raindrops, under the sun's warm gleam,
In Ballyfermot's shared moments, we wove a cherished dream.
Respect, a silent anthem, echoed down Landen,
Surnames spoken softly, honoring with no disdain.
Missus McCarthy, Flynn, and Kelly, pillars strong and wise,
Their legacy of kindness in every child's eyes.
On roads where we'd frolic, chasing balls with glee,
Climbing 'neath the cars, young hearts so wild and free.
The girls on swings, their laughter like a melody,
In every path we'd wander, life's precious symphony.
Oakwood's distant echo, where memories were spun,
With O.L.V Club's embrace, under the setting sun.
I'm thankful for those moments, in my heart they reside,
In Ballyfermot's warm embrace, my emotions open wide.
Though miles now stand between us, oceans far apart,
The pride of Ballyfermot still beats within my heart.
For in those fleeting moments, love's seed was sown,
In Ballyfermot's embrace, my truest self was known.❤️

Pig's feet and legends
Saturday night the county bar
Johnny Guidon on the door
Paddy in behind the bar
Johnny Mac let's out a roar
LISTEN! LISTEN! LISTEN
Silence all around
Every one just praying
For the first prize 20 pounds
Colgon going round the pub
He looked like Norman Bates
Collecting all the glasses
Stacking all the crates
Then off home for the supper
No better smell you got
A rack of ribs just simmering
With the pig's feet in the pot
The flavours were amazing
Went perfect with the drink
Then all the sticky fingers
Made a b line for the sink
Then to finish off the night
A sing song would transpire
Belting out the oldies
And the big aul open fire
It's a long way to Tipperary
And fly me to the moon
Each and every person
Sung a long to every tune
Then as the night came to an end
And there heading for the door
All singing hit the road Jack
Don't come round here no more
Memories
Looking back on growing up
And the memories of the past
Though they only seem like yesterday
The time goes by so fast
Football on the street
Going on the hop
Pickin holes in the turnover
On your way back from the shop
Green shield stamps and butter vouchers
Pushin turf back in the pram
Buns in school on Wednesday
Friday's bread and jam
Slow sets and bellbottoms
Very few of us had phones
Dancing in a circle
To mick jagger and the stones
Wrangler and Doc Martin's
Highlights in your hair
Returning empty bottles
Game of truth or dare
A penny for the black babies
Real summers in short pants
Bringing out the magnifying glass
And burning all the ants
Swap shop and the goodies
Tapen all your songs
The apartment and the TV club
Eating in jo wongs
Each and every one a special time
Although gone they still remain
Like a tiny little micro chip
Thats stored up in your brain
Like you have a built in google
Each one precious in its stack
And when you choose to
