Ballyfermot Community Civic Centre was opened in 2001. The building comprises a quadrant shaped three-storey structure cladded externally in polished granite slabs, containing offices and civic meetings rooms. Also contained crèche and childcare facilities. The spiral stairs is contained within a glass block tower and a Lift shaft to a two story section. There is also a community hall incorporating which has both an indoor and outdoor stages. The forecourt to the building is finished in a mixture of granite and brick paviours with a 25m long curved polished red granite seat and granite steps to street level. Designed by Duggan Architect for Dublin City Council at a cost of €6.6 M.
The Community Civic Centre replaced the old Community hall that was on the site. The building is surrounded today by the Ballyfermot Tribute Garden in remembrance to all the people from Ballyfermot and the surrounding areas that served in all the forces and emergency services, and was opened on the 28 September 2019. The new Ballyfermot Community Park opened by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Alison Gilliland on the 22 June 2022.
The Community Civic Centre is a used by the following Community Groups. Stewar’s Hub,
Together FM, National learning Centre (CDETB)
Meetings Rooms hold a variety of classes and meetings list of the Tenants
HSE Smoking Cessation Clinic, AA Group Meeting, Abundant life Christian fellowship
Holiness Revival Movement, CAMHS Parenting Group, School Board Meetings, Knitting Group,
DCC public Counter, MABS, Citizens Information Centre,
The Main Hall is used for a variety events and classes such as
HSE School Vaccination Clinic, Pantos, Bingo, Irish Dancing, Ballroom Dancing, Boxing Club
Sunday services (morning & evenings), Ballyfermot Arts festival, Seachtain na Gaeilge, Ballyfermot Trad Hub, FamiliBase Theatre workshop, Age Friendly Winter Programme, Senior Citizens Christmas Dinners
The Ballyfermot Community Civic Centre is one the most used buildings by the Community and Dublin City Council and is situated on upper Ballyfermot Road.
