I was sad to hear this morning on Sister Máire Kealy passing. Sister taught in both Primary and Secondary Schools in the Dominican Convent Ballyfermot from the beginning. I first came across notes in the Library many years ago that Sister Máire had wrote about the schools. I got in touch with her in 2016 and was delighted when she said that she would do an interview with both Sean Brennan and myself. I was also delighted when she told me she was going to write her book on the History of the Dominican order in Ballyfermot. In 2019 Sister launched her book and she has left us with a great legacy of history of Education in Ballyfermot from 1953. To all her Sisters in the Dominican Order, Lay Teachers, her Students and her many friends. I and my friends in Ballyfermot Heritage Group offer our condolences. Sister Máire is now resting in peace.
