Christopher Dalton 1920 – 1998 who was a musician and solo clarinettist learned his music in Artane Boys Band. He Joined the Irish Army in 1940 and went on to join the Irish Army School of Music, the Curragh Army Command Band, and the. He then went to Southern command Army Band.. He left the Army in1946.
Christopher married Philomena Robinson Dalton 1924 – 2020 and in 1957 he and his Wife Philomena moved to Kylemore Avenue and he worked as a Tailor. They had seven Children. Derrick was the youngest and sadly he passed away in 2008, and Phil told me he was a fantastic musician. There is a photo of Philomena’s family in the photo album. Philomena grandmother was in Cumann Na Mban Katie Clancy and one of the photos shows her with a group of Men and Women and Eamon De Valera.
There is also a photo of Phil with a group of men and they all played for Ballyfermot at some stage and remained firm friends. Phil Father Christopher pursued his music with St James Brass & Reed Band and went on to winning many competitions till he passed in 1998.
