In 1896 Camfield was purchased as a Christian Brothers College which was closed in 1905 when the Brothers moved to Kalgoorlie which was expanding very quickly where they began Christian Brothers College Kalgoorlie in 1906.

In 1896 Camfield was purchased as a residence for the Christian Brothers and the two story extension was used as a private school, the Brothers also teaching in a parish school in Aberdeen St. In 1905 the Brothers moved to Kalgoorlie which was expanding very quickly and where they began Christian Brothers College Kalgoorlie in 1906. The Kalgoorlie College amalgamated with Prendiville College in 1984 as John Paul College. The Brothers withdrew from Kalgoorlie at the end of 2001.
