The Orion nebula, taken by Martin Morgan-Taylor and myself, with a Canon 20D with Cape Newise telescope.
The short exposure photograph was only a 30 second exposure, and this is similar to the view that amateur astronomers witness with their own eyes when looking down the eyepiece of their telescope. Compare it with photo id m42k.
