Here I'm observing an annular eclipse on the outskirts of Madrid, Spain, at the European Space Astronomy Centre (or Vilspa, as it is more affectionately known!).
Since my EQ1 tracking mount was busy with an PST solar telescope, I used a normal tripod, tilting it slightly in the same way as the Earth is tilted. So, even though it wasn't tracking, all I needed to do was nudge it every so often!
Note the Baader film, to avoid burning a hole through the camera. The baader film is attached to the bottom of a baked bean can that is a very convenient size to slide on the end!
And I'm in the England cricket shirt, celebrating the winning of the Ashes 2005!
