I first visited Great Yarmouth as a young boy on a coach outing with my Sunday School in the early 1950s. I remember having a not particularly inspiring tea in a church hall with cucumber sandwiches and jelly. Those were the days!

Very many years later I returned and discovered a lively traditional seaside town, with (to quote from their website) "....candy-floss, ice-cream cones, seafront decorative lighting, amusement arcades, theme parks, donkey rides, entertainment, nights out on the town and beautiful sandy beaches."

Now in my later years, more to my taste are the town's historical remains including a medieval town wall and numerous ancient buildings. However, I couldn't resist taking this colourful picture of part of the seafront.
