Driving along the Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park some elk were grazing along the road. This one was curious enough that she almost put her head inside the passenger side window. It gave me a nice up close view.

It's just a 1/3 mile hike from the parking lot, but the scene was worth it. Lake Irene is located a short distance from the Continental Divide and drains into the Colorado River.

Overlook down into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, in BCG National Park. The gorge is almost 2000 feet with near vertical walls in some spots. Amazing view!
