This image was taken during a golden half hour at Crackington Haven on the north coast. The half a second exposure combined with 10mm wide angle was enough to create a sense of movement in the rushing water, without blurring it to milk. The last time I visited Crackington Haven was 2008/09 when I was still using slide film, so I was glad to finally make some images of this fascinating place using the digital medium.

Another shot of the North Yorkshire fishing village of Staithes. The reflections from the lights of the various sea front buildings were intended to be an integral part of the overall composition.

Another shot taken within a stone's throw of my house in Beeston Rylands. I used the 400mm end of my zoom to compose this image of the end of a rainbow positioned just behind this pylon.

I was very keen to re-visit this spot during the autumn months having photographed it during the spring of 2018. I felt that the warm, rich autumnal colours at the top of this fall gave some seasonal context.

Being an inland location and without any major attractions, the village of St Teath tends not to feature in the typical photo guides to Cornwall. This village does, however, have quite a significance to me as many of my Cornish ancestors lived and worked in the area for hundreds of years - the evidence of which can be found in the village's churchyard. This image shows the moon rising over the landscape above the village. Ironically, I had gone out for a walk in order to chase the setting sun, but instead ended up photographing the rising moon, as the sun had disappeared out of view beyond the distant hills.
