Duncans Cove Nature Reserve is a WWII military site and is largely undeveloped. The coastal walk section is outstanding, but you pay for it by needing to access it via a challenging, boggy, rutted, sometimes impassable, approach trail. There are a couple of former military emplacements, and on this walk, a military helicopter and military submarine just happened to cruise by. You don't always see wildlife here, but on this walk we even saw some seals.
