Gallagher Station power station can be seen on Indiana bank.
.
Twin-screw towboat "Transporter" (doc. # 569721, 90x32, GM 12-567AC diesels, 2400 hp) was built 1975 by Greenville (Mississippi) Shipbuilding Corp..
Originally named "Jay", the boat was renamed "Rose Marie Walden" in 1978 when bought and first put into service by Helena (Arkansas) Marine Service.
In 1983, the boat was renamed "Jo Beth Janoush" after being leased to Janoush Towing, Rosedale, Mississippi.
In 1987, the boat was sold to McBride Towing Co., Harrods Creek, Kentucky, and renamed "Transporter".
Still operating in 2017.
.
The cement barge "KC183" was (and may still be) owned by the Kosmos Cement Co. (now part of Cemex), 15301 Dixie Highway, Louisville, in the Kosmosdale neighborhood. .
The barge featured a large cylindrical tank which carried powdered cement.
.
Gallagher Station is four-unit coal-burning power plant which began operating in 1958. .
When all 4 units were operating, the plant produced 560 megawatts.
In 2012, two units were retired and the remaining two units upgraded with baghouses which remove particulates from the combustion gases, so output is now (2015) only 280 megawatts..
Coal barges can be seen near the plant, some already empty and others yet to be unloaded. .
The coal is scooped up with a clamshell bucket suspended from a truss which extends out over the water..
It is then dumped into a hopper and carried by conveyor belt to a storage pile..
.
The road in the foreground is now (2015) part of the Riverwalk.
