Looking NNW from wharf near foot of Bingham Way.
Excursion boat "Star of Louisville" (doc. # 933132) upbound on Sunday cruise.
The lampposts are gone and this part of the wharf is being rebuilt as part of the Waterfront Park project.
Clark (2nd St.) Bridge in background, with L&I (formerly Conrail) Bridge and upper gates of McAlpine Dam in distance at left.
.
Twin-screw excursion boat "Star of Louisville" (125x35, Cummins diesels, 700 hp) built 1988 by Marine Builders, Utica, Indiana.
This boat ran lunch and dinner cruises, docking at the Louisville wharf from 1988 until 2003, when the boat moved across the river to Jeffersonville, Indiana, just below the JFK Bridge.
Known as "Star of Jeffersonville" or simply "The Star", the boat operated there until 2009, when the business was closed.
In 2010, the abandoned landing boat of "The Star" sank before it was removed.
As of May 2015, "The Star" was apparently still owned by Star of Louisville Inc., 5821 Utica Pike, Utica, Indiana 47130 .
