Twin screw towboat, built 1951 by Waxler Towing Co., Memphis
Rebuilt in 1968 by Serodino, Inc., Guild, Tenn.
Rebuilt again in 2003.
70 x 20, Cat 3408 diesels, 850 hp. Cat (short for Caterpillar) reduction gears 6:1.
[Reduction gears reduce the relatively high RPMs of the engine to the relatively low RPMs of the propeller.
For example, with a 6:1 reduction ratio, when the engine is turning at 1200 RPM, the propeller is turning at 200 RPM with more torque.]
This boat was originally named JERRY WAXLER and owned by the builder (Waxler Towing Co.).
Sold 1974, renamed KATHERINE FORD by Ford Towing
Corp., St. Louis.
Sold to Economy Boat Store, Wood River, Ill., renamed BIXBY.
Sank at Nauvoo, Ill., Serodino purchased and rebuilt it.
Sold to Blue Grass Barge Co., Nicholasville, Ky., renamed MONTEREY.
Sold back to Serodino Feb. 1970.
Leased 1971, renamed GLYNNE C. MEYER by A&O Barge Line, Van Buren, Ark. (V. P. Serodino was president of A&O Barge Line.)
Returned to Serodino 1972, renamed (again) MONTEREY.
Sold June 1976, renamed by Five M Transportation Corp., Louisville, Ky.
Sometime after 2003 renamed MADISEN ANN.
