Tulips infront of a small building during a cloudy evening. This was shot in my neighbor's backyard, this is another subtle HDR that only shows increased dynamic and tonal range.

About the Photo
*Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS *Lens: EF 50mm ƒ/1.8 II *Shutter Speed: N/A *Aperture Value: ƒ/1.8 *ISO: 100 *Focal Length: 50mm (80mm Equivalent in 35mm Film)

I shot this on my Manfrotto tripod after converting it to its low to the ground macro positiion. this image is made on 11 different exposures, one average exposure, four 1 stop overexposures, and five 1 stop underexposures. I opened the RAW files in Photomatix pro and tone mapped them to my liking (values can be found in my EXIF data). I then opened the 16 bit TIFF file in ACR and increased the blacks, vibrance and clarity. I then opened the image in CS4 and did some tone curve adjustments to give the image more punch and added a solid yellow colour and reduced its opacity until it only slightly accented the image. I then saved a 16 bit TIFF file and converted to sRGB colourspace and saved as a JPEG to upload to the internet.

A high-key selfportrait. The crocuses have finally popped up in my front yard, this is so much earlier than last year!

About the Photo
*Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS *Lens: EF 50mm ƒ/1.8 II *Shutter Speed: 1/60Sec. *Aperture Value: ƒ/5.6 *ISO: 100 *Focal Length: 50mm (80mm Equivalent)

I shot this on a tripod and focused and composed from my laptop screen which was on my lap by using EOS Utilities. I had a 60" westcott umbrella infront of me with a Canon 430EX II at full power. I used a Vivitar flash behind me at full power to light the background. I also had a north facing window to my right that supplied ambient fill light. I triggered the flashes with a Canon ST-E2 Speedlite transmitter. I converted the RAW file in ACR and made nearly no adjustments. I opened the image in CS4 and used the healing brush tool to remove blemishes and scars. I cropped and straightened the image and finally edited the eyes to make them stand out more by doing some dodging and burning.

A tone mapped image looking out of my living room window. Does this image look natural or can you obviously tell that it is an HDR?

About the Photo
*Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS *Lens: EF-S 18-55mm ƒ/3.5-5.6 IS *Shutter Speed: N/A *Aperture Value: ƒ/22 *ISO: 100 *Focal Length: 18mm (28.8mm Equivalent)

I shot this on a tripod using mirror lockup, a polarizing filter, and a 2Sec. selftimer. This image in composed of 11 different exposures, one average exposure, seven 1 stop underexposers, and three 1 stop overexposures. I opened the RAW files in Photomatix Pro and tone mapped them to my liking. I then used ACR to polish up the 16 bit TIFF and opened it in CS4 where I did some burning of the backlit plants to make them appear more natural and used the sponge tool on them to bring out a little more saturation.

I have no idea why but CS4 won't convert my 16 bit TIFF file and I had to do it in Canon's Digital Photo Professional, does anyone know what went wrong?
