Summer Reading in Oregon, 1893

“What better way to relax on a hot summer day than to read a good book? We saw another view of these women reading at Cloud Cap Inn circa 1893 in another image. They are sisters Anne and Bess Lang, along with friend Lou Eaton. Now that we have the Hood River Glacier for that period online, we can verify the information we had from other sources. The September 30, 1893 Glacier reported:
Misses Annie and Bessie Lang of The Dalles and Miss Eaton of Portland went to Cloud Cup, Tuesday, to remain a week. Hon. M. A. Moody and a party from The Dalles will join them to-day.”
