While 2000 is not exactly ‘vintage’, I nevertheless chose to start this album with this historical event!

This image is of the cover of the first edition of Sindbad children's magazine that dates back to January 3rd, 1952. It was the first children’s magazine in the Arab world. It was published by a famous publishing house in Egypt called "Dar Al Ma'aref". The last edition of this famous magazine was in July 1960.

“Sinbad” was published every Thursday and was sold out within hours. The magazine's hero, Sinbad, is the legendary child, inspired by the stories of “A Thousand and One Nights,”.
The hero is, of course, Sinbad the Sailor:

John Bull and Uncle Sam celebrate “The Anglo-Saxon Christmas” of 1899 together, manning machine guns from within a holiday wreath.
"Unlike Puck and Judge, Life was often highly critical of U.S. overseas expansion. Life’s black-and-white January 4, 1900 cover welcomed the new millennium by illustrating “The Anglo-Saxon Christmas 1899.” John Bull and Uncle Sam are positioned within a holiday wreath, machine guns pointing out in both directions. The caption is ominous: “War on Earth. Good Will to Nobody.”"
