Last February, for a few weeks we had a pair of Northern Hawk Owls that could often be found in the trees along Wilkes Avenue just west of Kenaston Drive, in Winnipeg.
Though often perched high up in a tree, they would allow you to get fairly close, sometimes right beneath them to take a few pictures...
Unfortunately one of the owls was apparently hit by a vehicle and the other one (mate) disappeared shortly there after....
