One of my favorite animals to photograph; though rarely seen. These little guys can be so cute with their distinctive masks.

on this cloudy dull day I happened across 3 youngsters that were just walking into the woods and i was able to get a few shots of them on the snow, followed by many in the trees.

A rare sighting.... in over 3 years of visiting Fort Whyte, only 3 times have I ever seen raccoons there... and twice it was only a fleeting glimpse as they disappeared in the brush...
This time I came across 2 raccoons that were chasing each other in the trees...
They were only visible for a minute or two and during that time I was able to get a couple of decent pictures....

These 2 raccoons were chasing each other in the trees at Fort Whyte... and then suddenly stopped to "take a break" for about 3 seconds before disappearing into the brush below...

While on a drive out to the Whiteshell looking for eagles, I spotted this little fellow sitting up in a tree... over a 20 minute period he allowed me to take a number of shots from different angles.. here he was taking a look at me from behind the leaves of his little hideout...
