Family : Xanthorraceae
plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&am...
Growing here at 250m altitude on the rocky hillside on the northern more exposed side of Whoota Mountain in Wallingat National Park just south of Wallis Lake on the NSW Mid North Coast.
Xanthorrhoea fulva and X. latifolia both hybridise with X. johnsonii in Queensland but no indications that this happens in NSW. A population of X.fulva does exist though at sea level in Wallingat NP and I am uncertain if X.latifolia occurs in this area at this time.
I had initally thought this plant could have been possibly Xanthorrhoea latifolia subsp. latifolia but subsequent investigation, including taking a local botanist to see the plants now seems to confirm this species as Xanthorrhoea johnsonii.
