Notes on the photo: The 4.2" German gun, made at the Krupp Essen works in 1907, is a war trophy captured by the 13th Btn AIF on 8th August 1918 and distributed to the town of Katoomba by the War Trophy Commission. It arrived in 1920 and was apparently located at Echo Point overlooking the Jamison Valley, where it served as a children's plaything until its removal at the outbreak of World War Two, it is believed to have been sold for scrap.
