Notes: Blue Mountains Woolfiesta was part of a promotional campaign by the Australian Wool Bureau, later the Wool Board, which sponsored communities to organise wool themed activities and competitions.
The Midnight Dance was held at the Wentworth Cabaret at the Homesdale Guesthouse, Katoomba street.
" Attendance was well over the three hundred mark and the Wentworth Cabaret was well decked out in a fine display of wool posters in the foyer and on the stage...highlight of the night was the Twist competition and it was keenly and closely contested by twenty five couples.
Novelties, balloons, and streamers, were a feature of the night and the music of Dave Jamison's Modernaires was at its sparkling best."

Notes: the original house was built around 1889 in land originally belonging to WR Copeland. In 1921 Mrs Starkey purchased the house then named Hillside, renamed it Redlands and operated it as guesthouse. She left Redlands in 1943 and ownership passed to a Mrs Raft. By 1943 the proprietress was Mrs Statham. From 1962 a succession of owners leased it to a Mr and Mrs Collins. In 1976 it was purchased by new owners who restored it as a family home.
