Notes:
The church represents the strength of purpose of the Presbyterian community of Katoomba in the first half of the twentieth century and the ability of the three major non-conformist denominations (Methodist, Congregationalist, Presbyterian) to sustain impressive churches in the commercial centre of town. The close association with the prominent local doctor, Alexander Allan, and with the wealthy owner of Lilianfels, Albert Kemp, adds significance to the Presbyterian church within the community.
The former Presbyterian Church is a representative example of a Federation Romanesque style church. Its prominent location at the corner of Waratah and Lurline Streets makes it an important element in the streetscape.
