Finally, on Friday, the weather cooperated and I was able to get in my first nature walk of the Spring. I took to Mer Blue, in Ottawa's East end, because I was interested to see what damage the winter had caused to the boardwalk. Surprisingly, all was intact. As I was making my second round I noticed this single leaf hanging off this tree. The Leaf had survived, relatively intact though bleached of colour, one of the longest and coldest winters in recent memory.

Both the tree and the leaf had lots of colour and texture so I snapped a few photos.
